Morant Committed to Secure Systems
Suggestions for Keeping Networks Updated and Secure
Helping to ensure the security of your personal computer as
well as the security of your organization’s system is a
priority for Morant. We’ve been working to keep clients
informed on the newest protections from both our developers and
outside software companies.
“Security in the workplace has been elevated from a ‘concern’ to
a matter of survival,” commented David Hanna. “At
Morant, we are doing all that we can to make increasing your
network security simple.”
Here are a few suggestions for developing a more secure network:
? Update your virus definitions regularly. Set up a schedule
to automatically download data on a daily basis and scan your
computer. Mid-day updates work best.
? Take advantage of Microsoft security downloads. Update and
upgrade your file server(s) and workstations that are using one
of Microsoft's Operating System packages and one of Microsoft's
tools for email.
? AMPAC users need to make changes. After installing some Microsoft
security updates, the MS Exchange and MS Outlook security options
have to be modified for some AMPAC users. If this is not done,
each email has to be individually acknowledged during batch email
using one of the options in AMPAC.
You will find the documentation and software for this new email
security modification on Morant's WEB site under User Group Section
(www.morant.com).
