Morant Committed to Secure Systems

Suggestions for Keeping Networks Updated and Secure

Helping to ensure the security of your personal computer as well as the security of your organization’s system is a priority for Morant. We’ve been working to keep clients informed on the newest protections from both our developers and outside software companies.

“Security in the workplace has been elevated from a ‘concern’ to a matter of survival,” commented David Hanna. “At Morant, we are doing all that we can to make increasing your network security simple.”

Here are a few suggestions for developing a more secure network:
? Update your virus definitions regularly. Set up a schedule to automatically download data on a daily basis and scan your computer. Mid-day updates work best.

? Take advantage of Microsoft security downloads. Update and upgrade your file server(s) and workstations that are using one of Microsoft's Operating System packages and one of Microsoft's tools for email.

? AMPAC users need to make changes. After installing some Microsoft security updates, the MS Exchange and MS Outlook security options have to be modified for some AMPAC users. If this is not done, each email has to be individually acknowledged during batch email using one of the options in AMPAC.

You will find the documentation and software for this new email security modification on Morant's WEB site under User Group Section (www.morant.com).

Alexandria, VA--Morant Data Company, a leading provider of Association Management Software, is pleased to announce that it has changed its name to "Morant Information Systems" to more closely reflect the company’s future direction and to better convey the types of products and services the company offers.

Since 1983, Morant Information Systems has specialized exclusively in providing association software, support, and system implementation services for membership organizations worldwide. The company’s new name, "Morant Information Systems" enables them to honor their heritage by retaining the name of the founder, while updating their name to more accurately reflect the company’s range of capabilities.

With offices in Washington, D.C., and now New York and Chicago--the leading association centers of the world--Morant Information Systems is emerging as a major player in the association software market. Improvements to their product, AMPAC, as well as the introduction of a new in-house Systems Support Group are evidence of the company’s growing strength in this market.

Morant’s Association Management PACkage, AMPAC, is a very powerful, yet extremely easy to use system that provides capabilities not found in other association software management packages, such as Foundations/Grants, Survey Management, and Political Action Committee Management. This year, Morant Information Systems released the most powerful version of this software. Some of the new features include internet able database, customized report writing, the ability to enter unlimited optional information entries for members, multiple on-line HELP options, and enhanced security features. All modules operate in Windows '95, Novell, Windows NT Client, and Windows NT Server and can integrate with popular e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, communication packages as well as other Windows applications.
